This individual would be responsible for, but not limited to, assisting the residential management staff by providing the residential population and candidates for admission with oversight of day-to-day activities. This position helps to empower residential clients served through the use of a trauma-informed care approach; utilizing such skills as advocacy, coaching, compromising, negotiation, and problem-solving. This position will assist with case management duties, crisis intervention as well as ensuring the safety of resident clients and staff.

 

This individual would be based out of the 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605 location.  All duties would be performed throughout the designated territory's surrounding cities and towns within the state. 

 

This is a part-time position, this position does not include benefits with an exception to sick leave. The nonnegotiable hourly rate for this position is $16.83. The schedule is as follows, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

 

Must be able to pass a CORI and background investigation.  Must be able to start within two weeks of receiving a verbal offer.

Essential Functions:

  1. Works as a contributing member of the Residential staff team to assist residential clients to reintegrate into the community and regain independence.
  2. Ensures adequate program coverage for assigned shift and supervision when necessary.
  3. Assigns client details and ensures completion.
  4. Provides life skills coaching and mentoring support services including teaching and training specific to each individual's needs.
  5. Provides crisis intervention and conflict resolution when needed.
  6. Acts as client advocate and liaison to the Case Management team
  7. Maintains resident safety and confidentiality by utilizing the wand and checking all bags as residents enter the facility; administering breathalyzer to all clients every time they enter the program; administering random urine testing on clients and forwards incoming calls for residents to voicemail.
  8. Maintains knowledge of ongoing program issues and developments and informs the supervisor of issues and concerns. Prepares and submits detailed report of all activities, incidents and emergencies that occur during shift. Checks email for all communications and scheduling throughout shift.
  9. Enters case notes and assists with client record keeping and documentation as needed.
  10. Assists with training staff as needed.
  11. Provides transportation using company vehicle as needed.
  12. Keeps Command Post and reception area clean and organized.
  13. Attends and participates in all Veterans Inc. and external meetings are required.
  14. Works a contributing member of the Veterans Inc. team.
  15. Develops and maintains positive relationships with the clients, staff volunteers and visitors.
  16. Other special projects and duties as assigned.

  11. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications is required.
  12. Valid driver's license with own personal, reliable transportation required.
  13. Must be able to successfully pass a background records check and drug screening.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:  

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or other related field required
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in case management, substance abuse treatment, direct care services.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in case management, human services, social work or substance abuse treatment.
  • 2+ years' experience in conflict negotiation and resolution.
